SUMMARY
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
In an effort to conduct a thorough planning review of the University of Minnesota's holdings at UMore
Park, the University's Board of Regents in February commissioned a report by a consulting firm, Sasaki
Associates, Inc. Resulting reports were presented to the Board on Thursday, November 9. In the words
of a University news release, "The vision, assembled by a steenng committee of university and commumry
members, calls for turning the land into a unique and vibrant new sustainable community, developed with
the full research engagement of the university."
The University has posted summaries of the reports to its website at www.umorepark umn.edu. Full
copies of the report will be provided to Council members in the next several days. The news release is
available at http: /wwwl.umn.edu /urelate /newsservice /home.php
To discuss the consultant's findings and regents' action, two University administrators will attend the
Council work session. Charles Muscoplat, Vice President for Statewide Strategic Resource Development,
and Larry Laukka, Executive Director, UMore Park.
