EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
DISCUSSION
Previously staff had unformed the Council that District 917 was interested in building a school in the
Akron Avenue area. It is our understanding that the school services a special needs population for
several school distracts in the area.
District 917 has been working with the CDA to assemble land. The most recent discussion is the
school would be located on the east side of Akron Avenue, with land immediately adjacent being
purchased by the CDA.
John Christiansen, Superintendent, and Dan Sullivan, Director of Special Education will be in
attendance to review the school operations and population served.
