EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
ISSUE
All statutory cities are required to annually appoint the City's official weed inspector. The Mayor of a
statutory city is appointed to the position and may defer the service to a designee from City staff.
BACKGROUND
The Pubhc Works Department has a forester on staff that has been trained to recognize noxious weeds as
outlined in the Rosemount City Code under Section 5 -2 -1, Weed and Vegetation Control.
SUMMARY
Staff recommends that Mayor Droste be appointed the Weed Inspector and Maintenance Worker, Mark
Joosten, be appointed as the designee or Assistant Weed Inspector for the year 2007.
