RECOMMENDED ACTION: The City Clerk shall administer the Oath of Office to Mayor
elect William H. Droste and Council Members elect DeBettignies and Shoe Corrigan.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
ISSUE
Minnesota State Statute 358.05 requires that City officials must take and sign an Oath of Office before
transacting any business or exercising any privilege of office.
BACKGROUND
The City of Rosemount's General Election was held on November 2, 2010. William Droste received the
majority of votes for the Mayoral position. Mark DeBettignies and Kim Shoe Corrigan each received the
plurality of votes for the two available Council Member positions. The positions of Mayor and Council
Members are elected to a four year term. The term begins immediately after the Oath of Office is
administered.
SUMMARY
The Oath of Office for Droste, DeBettignies and Shoe Corrigan shall be administered by the City Clerk.

I, William H. Droste, do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of the United
States and of the State of Minnesota, and faithfully will discharge the duties of Mayor of the
City of Rosemount in the County of Dakota, and State of Minnesota, to the best of my
