RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to Adopt a Resolution Approving the Preparation of
Plans and Specifications, Approving the Plans and Specifications, and Approving the
Advertisement for Bids for Prestwick Place 2" Addition Street and Utility Improvements,
City Project 425.
BACKGROUND:
On July 19, 2011, City Council approved the final plat for Prestwick Place 2° a development that will add
29 single-family lots to the northwest corner of Akron Avenue and Connemara Trail.
Staff is asking Council to approve the preparation of plans and specifications, to approve the plans and
specifications, and to approve the advetrisement fox bids foY the Prestwick Place 2° Street and Utility
Improvements, City Project 425. Bids are scheduled to be received on Friday, August 26, 2011 at 10:00
a.m.
At this time, the plans and specifications are complete and copies are on file in the Engineering
Departtnent. The proposed ixnpYOVements include the installation of water main, sanitary sewer, and
storm sewer throughout the project area, and the construction of approximately 1,400 linear feet of new
roadway.
The total preliminary estimated project cost is $818,250 which includes overhead (indirect) costs. The City
has entered into a petition and waiver agreement with the developer, D.R. Horton, for the assessment of
public unprovement costs and trunk area fees for the project.
SUMMARY:
Staff recommends Council approve the preparation of plans and specifications, approve the plans and
specifications, and approve the advertising for bids for the Prestwick Place 2° Street and Utiliry
Improvements, City Project 425.

A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PREPARATION
OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS,
AND APPROVING THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR
PRESTWICK PLACE 2 ADDITION STREET AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS
CITY PROJECT 425
WHEREAS, D .R Horton has requested the Cityof Rosemount prepare plans and specifications for
Prestwick Place 2° Addition Street and Utility Improvements, City Project 425; and
WHEREAS, D.R Horton has deposited the necessaryfunds with the Cityforthe preparation of the plans
and specifications for CityProject 425; and
WHEREAS, D.R Horton acknowledges that this action does not implyor guarantee CityCouncil
approval of the final plat for Prestwick Place 2° Addition.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the CityCouncil of the Cityof Rosemount approves the
preparation of plans and specifications for said improvements of CityProject 425.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the CityCouncil of the Cityof Rosemount approves the plans and
specifications for said improvements of CityProject 425.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the CityCouncil of the Cityof Rosemount approves the advertisement
for bids for said improvements of City Project 425.
