EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
With the City of Rosemount's close identification with the culture of the Irish in America, it is only
appropriate that the community is home to a young man who will represent our community and nation in
an international competition next month devoted to Irish Dance. Evan Lowe, a freshman at Rosemount
High School, will attend the World Irish Dancing Championships in Dublin next month.
Evan took an interest in the art form at the age of 3 after seeing a performance on Harriet Island. He
began practicing at the age of 7, and he joined a school in St. Paul that specializes in Irish Dance in the 8
grade. His teacher was an original Riverdance performer, and he guided Evan to the Mid- America
regional championships in Chicago last fall, where Evan won his age class.
Evan has been fundraising to pay for his trip to Ireland in April. He hopes success there could lead to a
career in dancing after graduating from Rosemount, perhaps with a leading company in Chicago.
