EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
ISSUE
During the course of demolition of buildings on the Genz Ryan property, some contamination was
found. Apparently the lifts in the middle building has some cylinders which broke, leaking hydraulic
fluid. Over the last month staff has been working through the PCA process relating to the cleanup.
Staff has determined that through the course of doing site final grading the contractor can remove
some the contaminated soils. The goal is to remove as much contaminated soil as possible. Staff
believes this will assist in marketing the property.
Funding will come from the Building CIP, which has monies available for the work due to revenues in
excess of that budgeted from SKB.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval of an expenditure of up to $90,000 for Site Remediation at the Genz
Ryan Site.
