BACKGROUND:

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On April 19, 2011, the Rosemount City Council authorized the preparation of plans and specifications for
the Glendalough 4t Addition Street Utility Improvements. This project has been designated as City
Project 435. At this time, the plans and specifications are complete and copies are on file in the
Engineering Department.
The proposed improvements will complete Carlingford Lane to the north of 134 Street West (the
attached location map illustrates the project area). The proposed surface improvements include the
construction of a 28 -foot wide city street that includes concrete curb gutter and 5 -foot concrete
sidewalks along both sides. There will also be a trail connection to the existing bituminous trail along the
north property line of the Glendalough developments. The proposed utility improvements include the
construction of water main, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer.
Staff recommends Council receive the plans and specifications and ratify the advertising for bids for the
Glendalough 4th Addition Street Utility Improvements, City Project 432.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemount has ordered the preparation of plans and
specifications for the Glendalough 4th Addition Street Utility Improvements, City Project 435, and such
plans and specifications have been presented to this Council for approval:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount, Minnesota:
1. Such plans and specifications are hereby approved and ordered placed on file in the office of the
City Clerk.
2. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official City newspaper and the Finance
and Commerce an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvements under such
approved plans and specifications for City Project 435.
3. The advertisement shall be published in each of said publications at least once not less than three (3)
weeks before the date set for opening bids, specified the work to be done, stating the bids will be
publicly opened on May 27, 2011 at 10:00 o'clock a.m. at the Rosemount City Hall in said City, and
that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk and accompanied by a
cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or certified check payable to the City Clerk for five (5
percent of the amount of such bid.
4. Such advertisement for bids is hereby ratified by the Council.
