RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to appoint Mike Weber to the Planning Commissioner
for a term ending on March 31, 2014.

City Council Regular Meeting: August 1, 2011
BACKGROUND
Due to the resignation of a Planning Commissioner, a vacancy was created for a term that ends on March
31, 2014.
The City Council received applications from residents willing to serve as members on City advisory
commissions including the Planning, Port Authority, Parks Recreation and Utility Commissions earlier
this year. The City Council conducted interviews for those interested in serving on the Commissions on
March 16, 2011. Because many residents expressed interest in serving on the various boards, the City
Council reviewed the applications again to make an appointment to the Planning Commission. Based
upon the review of applications and discussion amongst the members, the City Council directed staff to
confirm that Mike Weber would serve on the Planning Commission if appointed. He has agreed to the
appointment.
SUMMARY
Staff recommends approval of the above stated motion.
