RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to set a hearing for the Tuesday, November 16, 2010
in the City Council Chambers immediately following the conclusion of the City Council
Meeting for the purpose of hearing the appeal of a solicitor license to Daniel C. Smith.
BACKGROUND
Frontline Marketing applied for a solicitation license for 2010. The license has been granted to Frontline
Marketing but denied to one employee of Frontline Marketing.
ISSUE
The individual who was denied a solicitor license has requested an appeal of the denial. In accordance
with City Code 3 -5 -13, Daniel C. Smith has requested a hearing. City Code requires the Council to set a
time and place for a hearing.
RECOMMENDATION
The City Council is asked to set a hearing for Smith's appeal to be held on November 16, 2010 in the City
Council Chambers immediately after the conclusion of the regular City Council Meeting scheduled for that
date. Staff will provided written notice of the hearing to Mr. Smith once the hearing has been set by
Council.
