Droste, Mayor AGENDA NO. 3,0, ATTACHFIENTS: None APPROVED BY: RECOMMENDED ACTION: Award commendations For the fifth year in a row, the Rosemount High School Marching Band has won the state championship for its performance. This accomplishment caps off another year in which the students, their directors, and their families have brought honor to the school and the community. The Irish band placed first among schools of its size, and won the title of Grand Champion of all bands that competed at the Youth in Music Marching Band Championships held October 23 at the Metrodome in Minneapolis. The Irish band also earned a Captain Award for Outstanding Winds, and band member Megan Fitzgerald won a scholarship through the competition. The band recently placed fifth out of 47 top bands and won its class at the Bands of America Super Regional in St. Louis. Its 176 students are undefeated in upper midwest band competitions again this year. The band has provided a two - minute video of its state - championship performance. Scheduled to attend tonight's Council meeting are Drum Majors: Marci Berg Billy Hoffman Jason Lamoreaux and Megan Skrbec Band Directors: Bojan Hoover Steve Olsen and Leon Sieve
