The Irish band placed first among schools of its size, and won the title of Grand Champion of all bands
that competed at the Youth in Music Marching Band Championships held October 23 at the Metrodome
in Minneapolis. The Irish band also earned a Captain Award for Outstanding Winds, and band member
Megan Fitzgerald won a scholarship through the competition.
The band recently placed fifth out of 47 top bands and won its class at the Bands of America Super
Regional in St. Louis. Its 176 students are undefeated in upper midwest band competitions again this year.
