Rosemount is fortunate to have a group of Boy Scouts each year who master the skills that qualify them as
Eagle Scouts. The designation is the highest advancement rank for Boy Scouts, reflecting the completion
of requirements in the areas of leadership, service, and outdoor skills. Nationally, only five percent of Boy
Scouts achieve this goal. There is a special benefit to local communities, because one of the stringent
requirements for this achievement is completion of a service project.
The City Council tonight continues its tradition of honoring these accomplishments by commending a
Scout from Rosemount who recently achieved the Eagle rank.
Nathan Kintzi built a "nature blind" at the Carpenter Nature Center in Hastings that permits
visitors to get a close -up look at wildlife in the marshes and woodlands of the center. Nathan
organized 40 Scouts and leaders to help build the 8 -by -13 foot structure. Nathan will leave later
this month for Iowa State University, where he plans to study biochemical engineering.
