December 31 will conclude the term of representation of Rosemount in the Minnesota House of
Representatives by Phillip Sterner. Rep. Sterner was sworn into office in January 2009. We on the
Council knew him well from his service in City government on the Rosemount Parks and Recreation
Commission and here on the City Council.
Although only a freshman legislator, Rep. Sterner achieved a leadership position as Vice -Chair of the Local
Government Division of the House. He also served on the committees for Environment Policy and
Oversight and for State and Local Government Operations Reform, Technology and Elections. His work
provided essential support for the economic development initiatives we and neighboring cities pursue
through the Dakota Future organization. He also spearheaded funding for the Minnesota Zoo and for
work to improve the 52/42 interchange and Cedar Avenue.
In the words on the plaque we will present:
The Rosemount City Council commends PHILLIP STERNER
Member, Minnesota House of Representatives, 2009 -2010
On behalf of the citizens of Rosemount, we thank you for working to improve the lives of our
