Rosemount is fortunate to have a group of Boy Scouts each year who master the skills that qualify them as
Eagle Scouts. The designation is the highest advancement rank for Boy Scouts, reflecting the completion
of requirements in the areas of leadership, service, and outdoor skills. Nationally, only five percent of Boy
Scouts achieve this goal. There is a special benefit to local communities, because one of the stringent
requirements for this achievement is completion of a service project.
The City Council tonight continues its tradition of honoring these accomplishments by commending a
Scout from Rosemount who recently achieved the Eagle rank.
Jason Lamoreaux is a junior at Rosemount High School. For his service project as part of the
process to become an Eagle Scout, he designed and built sound panels to install in the youth room
at his church. The room had hard walls with poor acoustics. Jason's work softened echoes and
buffered sound in the meeting space. As Jason makes his plans for life after high school, he is
considering studies in engineering and may also try to serve as a youth pastor.
