BACKGROUND:
At the Council Work Session on August 11, 2010, Staff presented the City's current pavement
management data and an updated Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). To begin the implementation of the
CIP, a three year feasibility report is proposed to be completed as part of the 2011 Street Improvements
Project. This report will provide detailed project information that can be used to provide early
communication to residents impacted by projects in 2011, 2012, and 2013.
The proposed 2011 Street Improvements Project A includes surface improvements on approximately 1.3
miles of 145`" Street and .5 miles of Shannon Parkway. The proposed 2011 Street Improvements Project B
includes the roadway rehabilitation of approximately .7 miles of streets within the west half of the Valley
Oak neighborhood. Improvements to the east half of the Valley Oak neighborhood were completed as
part of the 2008 Street Improvements Project.
The attached Capital Improvement Plan Map illustrates the roadways proposed within the three year
feasibility report and beyond. The following information will be included within the three year feasibility
report:
• Existing conditions with detailed information on the existing materials
• Proposed improvements
• Detailed cost estimates and funding sources
• Estimated assessments
• Proposed pedestrian improvements and bike lanes on 145' Street and Shannon Parkway
At this time, Staff is requesting authorization to prepare a three year feasibility report which includes
detailed project information described above.

SUMMARY:
Staff recommends Council approval of the attached resolutions to authorize the preparation of a feasibility
report for the 2011 Street Improvements Project, City Project #432.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemount deems it necessary to investigate the feasibility of
the 2011 Street Improvement Project A, City Project #432
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, The City Engineer is directed to have the necessary
feasibility report prepared for the 2011 Street Improvement Project A, City Project #432.
ADOPTED this 7th day of September, 2010.
