EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The City Council approved a resolution on October 20, 2009 establishing a Youth Commission.
The City Council received 14 applications from youth members (residents) willing to serve as members on
the newly formed Youth Commissions. The City Council conducted interviews for those interested in
serving on the commission on Saturday, December 5, 2009. They were pleased with the caliber of talent
and enthusiasm of the applicants who expressed interest in serving on the advisory board.
The Council selected seven Youth Commissioners and one Alternate for the Youth Commission. The
Youth Commission terms will be effective January 1, 2010 and end in May, 2011. The Commissioners
may be reappointed.
SUMMARY
Since the names are private data until Tuesday evening, the list of proposed appointees will be distributed
at the beginning of the City Council meeting. Staff recommends using the above stated motion to appoint
the commissioners.
