The designation is the highest advancement rank for Boy Scouts, reflecting the completion of requirements in the areas of leadership, service, and outdoor skills. Nationally, only five percent of Boy Scouts achieve this goal. The City Council tonight continues its tradition of honoring these accomplishments by commending a Scout from Rosemount who recently achieved the Eagle rank. Martin David Spadafore refurbished bleachers at the Dakota County Fairgrounds. He worked to restore the structures to the appropriate building codes for the safety of children who might be tempted to run beneath them. The project included replacing boards and painting. He is a junior at Rosemount High School and hopes to study engineering in college The Council commends this Scout for his work, and it thanks the adults who work with these young people, including Scoutmaster Ken DuBois.
