SPECIAL MEETING PROCEEDINGS
MAY 19, 2009
CALL TO ORDER
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a special meeting of the Rosemount City Council was
held on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 2875 145
Street West, Rosemount.
Mayor Droste called the meeting to order with Council Members Shoe Corrigan, Bills and
Weisensel; Planning Commissioners Messner, Irving, DeMuth and Ege; and Port Authority
Members Riley and DiNella. Council Member DeBettignies and Planning Commission
Schwartz arrived late. Staff members present included City Administrator Johnson, City
Clerk Domeier, Community Development Director Lindquist, Planner Lindahl, Senior
Planner Zweber and Chief of Police Kalstabakken.
NEW BUSINESS
2.a. ULI Mn /Regional Council of Mayors Housing Initiative; Opportunity City Pilot
Program
Dennis Welsch and John Carpenter represented the ULI MN Regional Council of
Mayors /Opportunity City Program and provided a presentation on the ULI MN /RCM
Housing Initiative study findings.
Discussion was held regarding the employment and housing trends, demographics, and
Rosemount's comparison to other cities studied, diversity in housing and the importance of
working with the school districts moving forward with housing trends.
Community Development Director requested that Council and Commission Members send
her any comments or questions. She added that staff will review the data collected with the
Council Members and Commissioners to discuss action items where the data could be used.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the City Council the meeting was adjourned
at 7:13 p.m.
