EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
SUMMARY
For the last several years the City has been presenting the Employee of the Year award. Kim
Lindquist, Community Development Director, was recently chosen as Employee of the Year.
She was selected by the City's management team from among three nominees for service to
the City and its residents.
Kim Lindquist joined the City in 2003 and oversees planning, building inspection, and
economic development for the City. During the last year, Kim supervised the successful
launch of the Waterford Commons project now under construction in Downtown Rosemount.
She also was instrumental in negotiating a contract for the development of the Genz -Ryan
property and partnering with Dakota County for the new library that will open soon.
While these projects would be enough to recognize Kim, the 2008 City Council called upon
her to be the Interim City Administrator last Spring after the resignation of the City
Administrator. During her five months as Interim Administrator, she led a very successful
budget process in difficult economic times where vital services were maintained and the tax
burden on the average home was reduced for the seventh consecutive year. And, last but
not least, Kim has been very instrumental in assuring a smooth transition to the new City
Administrator who came on board in mid August.
For all of these reasons, and many more, we are pleased to honor Kim Lindquist as our sixth
recipient of our Employee of the Year award.
