EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
ISSUE
The 2009 Capital Improvement Budget (CIP) includes funding to construct two new tennis courts
adjacent to the two existing courts at Charlies Park. The most recent cost estimate for the new tennis
courts was approximately $153,000.00. This number was increased from the original estimate of $90,000
that was in the 2009 CIP due to the poor soil conditions identified at the project location. Staff worked
with Brauer Associates, LTD. to compile a bid package and advertised the project locally and also in a
publication that is published regionally. It is anticipated that construction of these new courts will be
substantially completed by mid November of this year.
SUMMARY
The City received ten bids for the project and they are listed in the bid tabulation table below.

Staff is recommending the City Council receive the bids and award the contract to Northwest Asphalt, the
lowest bidder, who bid the project for $106,345.25.
