EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
BACKGROUND
Torrance Harriel has been on medical leave from his duties as a firefighter since April 19, 2009 and is
requesting additional leave. According to the Rosemount Fire Department Personnel Policy, "A medical
leave of more than sixty (60) days requires City Council approval." It is unclear at this time when he will
be able to return to his position on the fire department.
SUMMARY
Approval of the extension of medical leave for Torrance Harriel is being requested of Council. Staff will
return to Council if the leave request should extend over one (1) year.
