SPECIAL MEETING PROCEEDINGS
JANUARY 24, 2009
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a Special Meeting of the Rosemount City Council
was held on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 8:05 a.m. in the Conference Room at City Hall,
2875 145 Street West, Rosemount.
City Council present included Mayor Droste and Council Members Shoe Corrigan,
DeBettignies, Bills and Weisensel. City Administrator Johnson was also in attendance
Participation of council members in outside organizations was discussed. Mayor Droste
agreed to become the principal board member for the DCC with Council Member Weisensel
the alternate. Council Member DeBettignies agreed to be the liaison for the Arts Council
and Council Member Shoe Corrigan asked to be included on the UMore Advisory
Committee. Dates for other meetings were discussed.
Progress on downtown development and overall economic development was discussed.
Partic»10r topics discussed included:
St. Joe's property future plans, possible grant availability, and setting up a tour date
Central Park Planning
Communication strategies
Transit options
Partnerships for such things as developing recreation and athletic fields, after school
programs.
Maintaining City's financial health
Extending flowers /landscaping to Waterford Commons on south and Library to
north
Communicating project needs to Representative Kline
Discussion of date to interview commission /committee candidates and procedures
Council Member Weisensel proposed to structure the goals into the following categories:
Communications
Partnerships
Infrastructure
Services
Efficiency
Growth
Council Member Weisensel will work with City Administrator Johnson writing up the goals
for City Council consideration.
There being no further business to come before the City Council, the meeting adjourned at
1:31 p.m.
