ATTACHMENTS: Draft Resolution APPROVED BY: DO RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve a resolution to appoint Heather Nosan as a Class 1 Trustee for the SKB Environmental Rosemount Community Trust for a three -year term expiring January 1, 2012 4 ROSEMOUNT CITY COUNCIL City Council Regular Meeting: February 3, 2009 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY BACKGROUND The SKB Environmental Rosemount Community Trust Agreement (the "Agreement") provides that the trust shall be managed and administered by five (5) Trustees. The five Trustees consist of three Class I Trustees and two Class II Trustees. The three Class I Trustees are nominated and appointed by the Mayor with approval of the City Council. The Class I Trustees must be residents of Rosemount and selected for their knowledge of the needs of the citizens and City of Rosemount. Class I Trustees are appointed to a three year term and may not serve more than two terms. Class II Trustees are designated and appointed by SKB. Two other Rosemount residents, Beth Adams and Mary Riley, are also acting as Class I Trustees who were appointed by the City Council. The two Class II Trustees, Don Chapdelaine and John Domke were appointed by SKB. SUMMARY Mayor Droste requests City Council's approval of the provided resolution to appoint Heather Nosan as a Class I Trustee for a three -year term expiring January 1, 2012. WHEREAS, the SKB Environmental Rosemount Community Trust Agreement provides that the Mayor and the City Council shall appoint Class I Trustees to serve on the board; and WHEREAS, the Agreement further provides that the appointments be accomplished at the first City Council meeting in January of each year, or as soon as possible thereafter. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rosemount, Dakota County, Minnesota, that it hereby appoints and designates Heather Nosan to serve as a Class I Trustee for a three year term expiring January 1, 2011. ADOPTED this 3rd day of February, 2009 by the City Council of the City of Rosemount.
