C ATTACHMENTS: None APPROVED BY: DO RECOMMENDED ACTION: Appoint Mayor Droste as Director and Council Member Weisensel as Alternate Director to the Dakota Communications Center Board of Directors 9i ROSEMOUNT CITY COUNCIL City Council Regular Meeting: February 3, 2009 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY ISSUE The Dakota Communications Center (DCC) is the joint dispatch operation for police, fire and medical emergencies serving public safety agencies in Rosemount and other Dakota County communities. DCC is organized as a joint powers entity governed by a Board of Directors comprised of the JPA member agencies Dakota County and the cities within Dakota County greater than 10,000 in population. The terms of the Joint Powers Agreement describe the appointments to the Board of Directors. Rosemount is among the entities making two -year appointments in odd numbered years. SUMMARY The City Council discussed representation at its Special Meeting on January 24, 2008. Based on that discussion, staff recommends that Mayor William Droste be appointed to the position of Director and that Council Member Jeff Weisensel be appointed as alternate director for the two year term beginning in 2009.
