EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
BACKGROUND
All four of the City's employee contracts expire at the end of this year. Our four groups include the
maintenance workers (Teamsters), police officers and sergeants (both LELS) and office employees
(AFSCME). Negotiations have started with only one unit, the Teamsters. Two meetings have been held
with them, with a third one is scheduled on Monday afternoon. Initial contacts have been made with the
other three bargaining units, but no meeting dates have been established yet. Staff plans to verbally update
the council on the details of the negotiations to date.
