ATTACHMENTS: Letter from SKB Environmental APPROVED BY: Gal RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to receive a donation of site grading work up to $200,000 from SKB Environmental. 4 ROSEMOUNT CITY COUNCIL City Council Regular Meeting: October 21, 2008 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY DISCUSSION For several years, the Rosemount City Council has set as one of its top goals to provide additional amenities for the community at a cost that does not put a burden on taxpayers or hurt the City's competitive situation. Through cooperation with other government agencies and contributions from the private sector, the City continues to achieve these goals. This action item continues that record of success. SKB Environmental has offered the City a donation that will assist in installation of athletic facilities. SKIT has sent a letter indicating that it is pleased to donate up to $200,000 worth of in -kind earthwork or construction for capital improvements to benefit the community. The letter does not specifically state where the work would be done. Staff has discussed providing grading work either on the property donated by Flint Hills for an athletic complex or in an area currently owned by the University of Minnesota which would house additional athletic facilities. The timing of the grading work is not yet defined, although staff has been working with SKB and the University to begin to put together a timeline.
