Minutes of the July 15, 2008 City Council Special City Council Special Work Session ProceedingsROSEMOUNT CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL WORK SESSION PROCEEDINGS JULY 15, 2008 CALL TO ORDER Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special work session of the Rosemount City Council was held on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 8:25 p.m. in City Hall at 2875 145 Street West. Mayor Droste called the meeting to order with Council Members Baxter, DeBettignies and Sterner in attendance. Council Member Shoe Corrigan was absent. Staff members present included Interim City Administrator Lindquist, Director of Parks and Recreation Schultz, Assistant City Administrator Foster and City Clerk Domeier. DISCUSSION 2.A. St. Joseph's Complex Director of Parks and Recreation Schultz requested direction on the potential courses of action that were outlined within the staff report. Acting City Administrator Lindquist stated the deadline to have a question on the General Election ballot was September 12. She provided more information regarding an end -use for the complex like working with a senior housing developer with the CDA for senior housing. City Council and staff discussion was held regarding the church, school, parking, modifications to the complex, senior housing and a possible referendum. The City Council direction was for staff to obtain preliminary numbers on making the gym usable, allowing access to the kitchen, installing handicap bathrooms and accessibility to the school's first floor. Staff should also update the renovation cost estimates for the church taking into consideration the use of the Gathering Space. Further discussion will be held in August. UPDATES Interim City Administrator Lindquist provided more information about voting for the GEARS representative. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the City Council and upon a Motion by Droste, second by DeBettignies, the meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m. Respectfully Submitted, Amy Domeier, City Clerk bd
