Receive bids and award contract for the Akron Avenue Trunk Utility Railroad Improvements, City
Project #417.
BACKGROUND:
SUMMARY:
CITY COUNCIL
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On Wednesday, July 30, 2008, bids for this project were received and read aloud publicly.
This project includes the extension of trunk sanitary sewer and water facilities along Akron Avenue to
provide service in anticipation of future development. Additionally, this project includes improvements of
the at- grade railroad crossing on Akron Avenue and the construction of a Metropolitan Council
Environmental Services (MCES) sewer interceptor line.
This project will be funded with City, County, Mn /DOT and MCES funds. The City's share will be
funded from the Street CIP, the water core fund, and the sanitary core fund.
The tabulation of bidders, resolution and letter of recommendation to award will be provided at the
Council meeting.
