Werden was selected by the City's management team from among three nominees for service to the City and its residents. Joe Werden joined the Rosemount Public Works Department in September 1999. In addition to his regular duties as a maintenance worker, Joe focuses on the maintenance of City buildings to keep them safe and efficient. He worked closely this year with electric utilities and contractors to switch some City facilities to more cost efficient lighting, which will save tax dollars in the years ahead. He is also in charge of maintenance of street lights owned by the City. Werden is the fifth recipient of the yearly award, created by the City of Rosemount to celebrate its employees who perform excellent customer service, achieve savings and efficiency in government, and exemplify safe work habits.
