BACKGROUND: Attached for Council consideration is Change Order #2 for the 2007 Street Improvement Project, City Project #410. This change order represents additional costs incurred as a result of the work outlined in the attached letter from Anthony Aderhold with WSB Associates, Inc. The total amount of Change Order #2 is a net increase of $13,425.23 for a revised contract amount of $1,215,571.29. This contract increase is within the contingency budget for the project. The net increase to the contract total is $13,425.23. Change Order No. 2 increases the contract amount from $1,202,146.06 to a new revised contract amount of $1,215,571.29. The major items of work included as part of Change Order No. 2 are as follows: Added Items 1. Item 199: Seeding Topsoil import along with seeding and mulching for damaged area of Biscayne Park caused by homeowners from Biscayne Way parking at this location during construction. 2. Item 200: Pavement Marking Special Epoxy striping completed at Biscayne Way /145` Street West intersection and Biscayne Way/Biscayne Avenue intersection. 3. Item 201: Construct Outside Drop Existing sanitary manhole at the intersection of Biscayne Way and Biscayne Avenue was found to have an existing clay drop. Removed clay drop structure and replaced with a ductile iron pipe drop structure. Work also consisted of core drilling new openings into the manhole. 4. Item 202: Landscape Improvements Installed a rain garden at 14550 Biscayne Way. Installation included all of the plants, bedding material, and mulch associated with the rain garden.
