I am seeking a position on one of the commissions because I would like to be involved in the decision making process for Rosemount's future. I can bring a small business owners perspective to any committee. There will continue to be many important decisions made about Rosemount's future and I feel my business and personal experiences will be valuable in helping to assist Mayor Droste and the Rosemount City Council Members. I am a graduate of St. John's University, Collegeville, Minnesota, with a business degree. I have been in the health insurance business for 25 years. I worked for two health insurance carriers including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota. I started my company, Benefit Specialists, Inc. in 1991 and continue to work with small employers (2 -200 employees) in designing their employee benefits programs. I currently work with 125 small employers and hundreds of individuals located across Minnesota, although most of these employers are located in the Twin Cities area. For the past six years I have lived in Rosemount and have been an active member of the Church of St. Joseph. I have been a member of the St. Joseph School Committee, including one year as Chairman. In 2007, my wife and I chaired our parish's most recent Capital Campaign. I have also been a football, basketball and baseball coach for my children's Rosemount Area Athletic Association (RAAA) teams. I feel my experience working with hundreds of small business owners, helping them design and implement such an important part of their business, will help provide a valuable perspective for any committee. My pragmatic and value oriented problem solving approach will be part of what I bring to the city. Thank you for your consideration.
