Kalstabakken, Chief of Ai AGEN DA NO. 2. u ATTACHMENTS: None APPROVED BY: V RECOMMENDED ACTION: Information Only 4 ROSEMOUNT CITY COUNCIL City Council Work Session: June 3, 2008 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY BACKGROUND The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial is located in Washington D.C. and honors law enforcement officers who were killed in the line of duty. In 1923, Rosemount Police Officer John McDermott was killed in the line of duty and his information will be forwarded to NLEOM for recognition. ISSUE Officer McDermott was accidently killed on May 21, 1923 as he investigated two suspiciois men seen near a Rosemount business. Detective Henry Cho researched McDermott's death and has compiled the information necessary to submit McDermott for recognition by NLEOM. Detective Cho will be present to provide an overview of the case to Council prior to the application being sent to NLEOM. &a:5 Fi 2,
