RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to Adopt Change to the 2008 City Council M ting
Schedule.
ISSUE
Regular City Council meetings are held the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall.
Work Session meetings are held the second Wednesday after the first Tuesday of each month.
Occasionally meeting dates are changed to avoid conflicts with holidays or other events.
A meeting date change is necessary for the first meeting in March on the 4th. March 4 is statutorily
provided for precinct caucuses for Major Political Parties at 7:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday in March in
every state general election year. Therefore, it is proposed to change the March 4 meeting date to March 5,
2008 in order to avoid conflict with state law.
CONCLUSION
Staff recommends approval of the change to the 2008 City Council Meeting Schedule.
