RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to Adopt a Resolution Awarding the Contract for
Meadows Park Landscaping and Path Construction, City Project #387.
ISSUE:
Award contract for the Meadows Park Landscaping and Path Construction, City Project #387.
BACKGROUND:
At the time that the Old County Road 38 Street and Utility Project was completed, the contractor was not
able to complete turf and trail restoration work within Meadows Park due to ongoing work by Northern
Natural Gas. Due to this delay, the restoration work was not completed with the original contract, and
separate quotes have now been obtained for the completion of this work. The project will include the
establishment of native prairie vegetation and paved trail that was removed with the original project.
A total of three quotes for the referenced project have been received and tabulated. The low bidder is
Pine Bend Paving with a bid of $91,816.
Costs associated with the project will be funded by the Old County Road 38 Street and Utility Project
Fund.
SUMMARY:
Staff recommends Council adopt the attached resolution receiving the quotes and awarding the contract to
Pine Bend Paving, Inc.

RESOLUTION 2008 —
A RESOLUTION AWARDING CONTRACT
FOR MEADOWS PARK LANDSCAPING AND PATH CONSTRUCTION
CITY PROJECT #387
WHEREAS, City Council hereby ratifies action of City Engineer to secure quotes.
BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount, Minnesota, as follows:
1. The quote of Pine Bend Paving of Vermillion, Minnesota in the amount of $91,816 for turf
and trail restoration work within Meadows Park shall be and hereby is accepted.
2. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with said
bidder for the construction of said improvements for and on behalf of the City of
Rosemount.
3. Award of the contract is contingent on the determination by the City Administrator that all
necessary rights -of -entry or easements by deed or dedication have been secured for
construction of the improvements.
ADOPTED this 19' day of August, 2008.

Quotes were received for the above - referenced project on Friday, August 8, 2008, and were
opened. A total of three quotes were received. The quotes were checked for mathematical
accuracy and tabulated. Please find enclosed the bid tabulation indicating the low bidder as Pine
Bend Paving, Inc. Vermillion, MN, in the amount of $91,816.
We recommend that the City Council consider these bids and award a contract to Pine Bend
Paving, based on the results of the bids received.
