RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve a Temporary On -Sale Liquor License for
the Rosemount VFW to hold an event on July 19, 2008 at 2625 120 Street West with
fencing around the parking lot area where liquor will be sold.

parking lot area where liquor will be sold.
ISSUE
The Rosemount VFW (the "VFW has submitted two separate requests for Temporary On -Sale Liquor
Licenses at 2625 120 Street West. The purpose of the requests is to hold two Leprechaun Day events in
their parking lot.
BACKGROUND
The VFW plans to have a band playing in their parking lot on Saturday, July 19 and sell food and alcoholic
drinks in a fenced area of the parking lot. The VFW has traditionally participated in the Leprechaun Days
Celebration by sponsoring the tractor pull. This year, the tractor pull is scheduled to take place on Sunday,
July 27. The VFW also plans to sell food and alcoholic drinks in a fenced area of the parking lot.
The $170 fee for the temporary license has been paid for both events. Upon approval by City Council, the
licenses will be presented to the State Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement Division for final approval.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval of the temporary liquor license as requested by the VFW to hold the outdoor
event on July 19 and the tractor pull event on July 29. The approvals are subject to the following
conditions:
1. The parking lot area be fenced in a manner consistent with prior years and approved by the
Rosemount Chief of Police.
2. Access points to the fenced area are staffed by the VFW to control entry /e)dt.
3. All outdoor music must cease by 11:00 p.m.
