RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to Approve the Hiring of Jayson Solberg for the
Position of IT Coordinator.
ISSUE
For City Council consideration is a recommendation to hire Mr. Jayson Solberg for the position of IT
Coordinator. Jayson is a Technology Supervisor at Next Level Cafe in Burnsville, where he has been
employed for the last four and a half years. Prior to that, he served in the US Army. In addition, Mr.
Solberg is a graduate of Rosemount High School and a Rosemount resident.
The City received thirty -eight applications from qualified people who were interested in this position. He
was one of three candidates brought back for final interviews. After close evaluation and several meetings,
it was determined that Mr. Solberg would be best suited to fill this position.
It is anticipated that Mr. Solberg will begin working for the City of Rosemount on July 1 pending Council's
approval of filling this position, the results of the pre employment physical examination (including drug
screen), and background check.
