RECOMMENDED ACTION: Presentation of certificates of commendation
Each year, a group of Boy Scouts in Rosemount master the skills and complete the service projects that
qualify them as Eagle Scouts. The designation is the highest advancement rank for Boy Scouts, reflecting
the completion of requirements in the areas of leadership, service, and outdoor skills. Nationally, only
four percent of Boy Scouts achieve this goal.
The City Council tonight continues its tradition of honoring these accomplishments by commending two
Scouts from Troop 207 of Rosemount who have recently achieved the Eagle rank.
John Hannasch achieved Eagle rank in December. His service project took place at Northview
Elementary School in Eagan last year, where he painted a map of the United States on the school
playground and provided learning games for the students.
Colin Patience also achieved Eagle rank in December. Last summer he assembled and installed
five benches at parks in Apple Valley.
The Council commends these Scouts for their work, and it thanks the adults who work with these young
people, including Scoutmaster Bill Kilzer, Assistant Scoutmaster T J. Rome, and Tom Hannasch who
helped facilitate this commendation.
