RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to receive a donation of $5000 from Dakota Electric to
be used for economic development purposes
DISCUSSION
A donation in the amount of $5000 has been received from Dakota Electric to be used in
conjunction with the City's economic development efforts. Dakota Electric annually contributes to
City economic development efforts. Past expenditures include technology upgrades, contribution to
the Downtown Redevelopment planning, City marketing, and payment to consultants for work on
the St. Joseph's Task Force work.
RECOMMENDATION
Motion to receive a donation of $5000 from Dakota Electric.

Dear Ms. Boyd,
I am writing regarding the Dakota Electric 2008 grant for the City of Rosemount. This year
the City will allocate the $5000 grant to work on the City's communications program relating
to the Outdoor Recreational Complex. As you may be aware, the City received an 80 -acre
donation from Flint Hills Resources to provide land for a recreation complex. The complex
is being planned to allow for more sporting tournaments in the City, bringing out of town
customers to the City's Downtown and other commercial establishments.
Over the last several months, the City's Park and Recreation Commission has been working
on a plan for the Complex. The next step is more public communication and ultimately
funding of the various Complex components. The grant will assist the City in providing
information to community residents about the Complex.
