RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve the attached resolution designating the
seven polling places for the 2008 elections.
ISSUE
Due to conflicts, Precincts 1, 4 and 6 will need to be relocated for the 2008 election year.
SUMMARY
Listed below is the polling locations designated for the 2008 Elections. Each location is available for use
for the anticipated Special Election as well as the Primary Election and General Election dates.
Precinct 1: Rosemount Community Center (formerly Rosemount Elementary School)
Precinct 2: Community of Hope Lutheran Church
Precinct 3: Shannon Park Elementary
Precinct 4: Lighthouse Community Church (formerly Public Works Garage)
Precinct 5A: Central Park Shelter
Precinct 5B: Jaycee Park Shelter
Precinct 6: Rosemount United Methodist Church (formerly Marcus Theater)
Should the City Council approve establishment of the polling locations, staff will begin public notification
through the City's website, local newspaper and other sources as needed. In addition, all voters in
Precincts 1, 4 and 6 will receive a direct mailing informing them of their polling location for 2008.
RECOMMENDATION
Approve the attached Resolution designating the seven polling locations for the 2008 elections.

RESOLUTION 2008
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE DESIGNATION OF
POLLING PLACES FOR 2008 ELECTIONS
WHEREAS, the City of Rosemount is divided into seven precincts for the election of four Council
Members and one Mayor; and
WHEREAS, polling locations need to be designated for each precinct and notice must be sent to
all affected voters.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Rosemount hereby designates the
following precinct locations for all 2008 elections and all subsequent elections until changed by the
City Council of the City of Rosemount.
Precinct 1— Rosemount Community Center, 13885 South Robert Trail
Precinct 2 Community of Hope Lutheran Church, 14401 Biscayne Avenue West
Precinct 3 Shannon Park Elementary, 13501 Shannon Parkway
Precinct 4 Lighthouse Community Church, 3285 144th Street West
Precinct 5A Central Park Shelter, 2893 145th Street West
Precinct 5B Jaycee Park Shelter, 15425 Shannon Parkway
Precinct 6 Rosemount United Methodist Church, 14770 Canada Avenue West
ADOPTED this 15th day of January, 2008 by the City Council of the City of Rosemount.
