ATTACHMENTS: APPROVED BY: RECOMMENDED ACTION: Presentation of plaque 4 ROSEMOUNT CITY COUNCIL City Council Regular Meeting: May 6, 2008 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The City Council supports education in the community and has taken opportunities to commend students who achieve at a high level and volunteers who support educational efforts. Tonight, the Council honors the principal of Rosemount High School, Greg Clausen, who will retire at the end of next month. Mr. Clausen began his career as a social studies teacher at Bloomington Kennedy High SchooL He later moved to Apple Valley High and was promoted to an administrative position. After moving to a position in Eau Claire, he returned to District 196 and became Rosemount's principal in 1995. He led the transition involved in the redrawing of attendance boundaries and in the growth of the student population in the school's attendance area. The school has grown physically and in its offerings during his tenure. In the words of the plaque we are about to present, The Rosemount City Council commends GREG CLAUSEN On behalf of the citizens of Rosemount, we thank you for improving the lives of our students. For fourteen years, you have provided leadership at Rosemount High School that was professional, innovative, compassionate, and inspirational. We are a better City with better students and families because you served. Thank you. Mr. Clausen is expected to be accompanied by District 196 Superintendent John Currie.
