" It is my belief that each resident, business owner, and properiy ovuner has a responsibility : and obligation to use their talents and/or training ta contribute to the community. These contriburions may take ma.ny forms. My formal training and career experience has uniquely suited me to work with infrastructure, land use planning, zoning, and development issues. These are also ongoing matters in the City of Rosemount. Appointrnent to the Planning Commission has given me, and would continue to provide me, the privilege of using my experience in service to the City of Rosemount. "Brie,fly describe your background, experience and any other information not previously given which you believe should be considered regarding the appointment you are seeking" I am a 23 year resident of Dakota County having moved to the City of Rosemount just over two years ago and having lived in Eagan far about 20 years. I have served on the Rosemount Planning Commission for the past year, as noted in the attached letter. I have also attended two training sessions presented by Governrnent Training Services(and generously paid for by the City of Rosemount)that has enhanced my ability to be an effective Commission member. I have not missed a scheduled Planning Commission meeting since my appointment and I prepare thoroughly for each meeting. I have also voluntarily served on the task force to update the City's Comprehensive Wetland Management Plan;and on the 42/52 Corridor Study Group. As Director of Munieipal Serviees at TKDA I directly supervise a diverse staff of engineers,planners, and technicians. This staff provides services to cities,towns, watershed districts, and cor�mercial clients. I have personally been the appointed consulting City Engineer for the cities of Afton, Forest Lake, Lino Lakes, and Lindstrom and have experienced the day to day challenges of growing communities. I also served as the Interim Community Development Director in Lino Lakes for six months. The City of Lindstrom has specif cally retained me, through TKDA, to attend all of their Planning Commission meetings to provide guidance in application processing and reviews. Additionally, I am completing an assigninent in Lindstrom as a co-facilitator for a highway corridor planning process with extensive roadway and pedestrian capacity issues and downtownbusiness involvement. Please note that I have no conflict of interest on City ma.tters as TKDA currently has no work under contract for the City of Rosemount. Throughout my cazeer e�erience I have prepared formal and informal reviews,reports, and presentations for planning commissions. In a professional capacity I participate regularly in Planning Commission and City Council meetings and public hearings on beha.lf of municipalities.
