RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION to accept the resignation of Phillip Sterner from the
Parks and Recreation Commission.
ACTION:
. ISSUE
Parks and Recreation Commissioner Phillip Sterner was elected to a City Council position
last November, 2004. He is now rendering his resignation on the Parks and Recreation
Commission.
Background :
Kelly Sampo was interviewed and appointed by City Council pending an open position for
the Parks and Recreation Commission. Council is required to accept the resignation for the
position prior to the new commissioner receiving the oath of office for the position.
SUMMARY
Parks and Recreation Commissioner Phillip Sterner has perFormed the duties of his
commission to the benefit of'the City of Rosemount. He has decided to devote his time to
his position of City Council Member and requests his resignation be accepted by City
CounciL

Dear Dan;
I hereby resign effective 4/1/2005 from the Parks and Recreation Commission. It is with
some sadness as I really enjoyed my 6 years on the Commission. With great people like
Mike Eliason, Mark Jacobs, &Eric Johnson whom I ha.ve served with for 3 years or
more, I am really grateful. I'm looking forward to Kelly Sampo taking over my position
as I really enjoyed working with her as we1L
T'hese experienced Commissioners along with Leslie Defries give you a superb&
qualified Commission. Dan,you do an outstanding job for the City of Rosemount and I
look forward to continuing to work with you and the fine Parks and Recreation
Commission for the next few years.
