RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to Approve the Assignment of Jeffrey Wendel as Fire
Department Secretary for a Period of Three Years. Motion to Approve the Training
Coordinators, Fire Prevention Personnel, Safety Officer, Captains and Lieutenants as
Presen#ed for Next Year.
ACTION:
BACKGROUND
This is a recommendation to appoint Jeffrey Wendel to the position of Fire Department
Secretary for another three years. His current term expired at the end of March, and
according to Fire Department policy,the secretary is to be selected #rom applicants meeting �
the minimum qualifications for the position,
In this application process, Mr. Wendel was the single applican#. He has been secretary far
four years and a member of the department since 1997. He is well qualified to continue in
the position and it is thereby recommended that his assignment to the position of secretary
be confirmed by the CounciL
Also for Council's consideration is #he attached (ist of suggested names for fire department
officers, committee members and coordinators. Chief Aker used evaluation information and
#hen consulted with the captains to determine who would fill each position.
SUMMARY
The Fire Departrnent requests that Council approve the assignment of Jeffrey Wendel as Fire
Department Secretary for a period of three years and appoint the attached tisting of officers,
committee members, and coordinators.
