RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to Approve Contracts with AMCON and Vetter
Johnson Architects and Authorize the City Administrator to Execute Contracts.
ACTION:
1SSUE
After an initial review and comments made by Rosemount's City Attorney, contracts with
AMCON and Vetter Johnson Architects are now at a point where stipulations have been
reviewed and changed to the satisfaction of both parties. The cost of services includes
an architect fee of 7%0 of the value of the construction cost and professional fee of 3.5%
of the construction costs to the construction manager (AMCON). City staff now
requests Council to authorize the execution of these contracts.
$ACKGROUND
At the work session on February 9, City Administrator Verbrugge presented information
for the construction of Fire Station #2. The.project's timing, scope, architect, and
issuance of the debt was discussed. Council indicated at this mee#ing that while they
were comfortable with the projecYs schedule, staff was to first pursue a-reduced
architecturaf fee.
Since that work session: a reduced architectural fee was agreed upon by both parties,
the schematic design was completed by Vetter Johnson Architects, Todd
Christopherson from AMCON sent the project costs to Springsted for bond issuance,
and two oper� houses have been conducted to receive public input.
SUMMARY
It is requested that Council approve the contracts with AMCON and Vetter Johnson
Architects and authorize the City Administrator to execute them.
