ACTION:
SUMMARY
National Night Out will be celebrated in Rosemount and other communities across the nation
on Tuesday, August 3, 2004 from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. This event is intended to:
• Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness.
• Generate support for and participation in local crime prevention and anti -crime
programs.
• Strengthen neighborhood and community spirit.
• Strengthen police community partnerships.
• Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and
fighting back.
Neighborhoods are encouraged to participate for all or a part of the evening by holding
events in their neighborhoods. This may include block parties, cookouts, potluck meals,
kiddie parades and other events. Members of the police and fire departments as well as
Council members will visit residents whom register their events with the Police Department.

651.322.2012. This event continues to grow in our community and we hope that the number
of neighborhoods participating in 2004 is greater than ever.
