FOR THE CONNEMARA TRAIL OVERPASS, CITY PROJECT #379.
ACTION:
BACKGROUND: '
On October 21, 2003, the City Council authorized the preparation of plans and
specifications for the Connemara Overpass. At this time, the plans and specifications
are complete and have been approved by the Mn /DOT State Bridge Section. The
estimated project cost is $1,815,250. The project will be funded with Municipal State
Aid funds. At this time, a request has been submitted to Mn /DOT for an advance
against the City's future Municipal State Aid annual allotments. Should advance funds
not be available, a general obligation bond can be sold to fund the project with
repayment of the bond coming from the City's Municipal State Aid account.
The completion of this project will require the City to enter into a License Agreement
with the railroad to cross railroad right -of -way. A final agreement is expected to be
forwarded to the City within the next several weeks. The schedule for bidding this
project will be set once the final railroad agreement is reviewed. A tentative schedule is
attached.
SUMMARY:
Staff recommends City Council adopt a resolution receiving the plans and specifications
and authorize the advertisement of bids.

A RESOLUTION RECEIVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
AND AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENT OF BIDS FOR
CONNEMARA TRAIL OVERPASS
CITY PROJECT #379
WHEREAS, the Utility Commission of the City of Rosemount have ordered the preparation of plans and
specifications for the Connemara Trail Overpass, City Project #379 and such plans and specifications have
been presented to this Council for approval:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount, Minnesota:
1. Such plans and specifications are hereby approved and ordered placed on file in the office of the City
Clerk.
2. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official City newspaper and the
Construction Bulletin an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvements under such
approved plans and specifications for City Project #379.
3. The advertisement shall be published in each of said publications at least once not less than three (3)
weeks before the date set for opening bids, shall specify the work to be done, shall state the bids will
be publicly opened at the Rosemount City Hall in said City and that no bids will be considered unless
sealed and filed with the City Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or
certified check payable to the City Clerk for five (5 %) percent of the amount of such bid.
