RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION to declare 1
printer, 5 PC's & monitors, 1 Police
vehicle and unused Christmas decorations as surplus equipment.
ACTION:
ISSUE Remove unnecessary equipment
BACKGROUND This is a request for Council to declare one printer, five personal
computers & monitors, 1 Police vehicle (CSO pickup) and old, unused Christmas decorations
as surplus equipment. None of the computer equipment or the Christmas decorations are
currently being used and, in the case of the computer equipment, are in need of repairs that
would cost more than the items are worth. The City will be disposing of all of the computer
equipment through a non- profit organization that recycles old equipment for schools. This is
an organization that I discovered that takes all of the equipment for no cost and salvages
what is usable and disposes of the rest at their cost. I believe that it is a win -win situation for
us and for them. The pickup will be disposed of through an auction. A small city is looking at
purchasing the Christmas decorations from us at a small cost.
The City's fixed asset tag numbers for the items are as follows:
Printer: 001395
PC`s & Monitors: 001312,001364,001371,001373&001501
Police Pickup: 983550
Christmas Stuff: 000277, 000278
SUMMARY
Recommend the above motion to remove unneeded equipment and free up storage
space.
