Statutory cities are required annually to appoint a Council Member to the position of Acting Mayor to conduct
meetings in the Mayor's absence. Council has discussed rotating this position. Council Member Mary Riley
was Acting Mayor in 2003 and Council Member Mark DeBettignies has agreed to hold this position in 2004.
Mayor Droste is recommending the appointment of Council Member Mark DeBettignies. as Acting Mayor when
deemed necessary.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Motion to appoint Council Member Mark DeBettignies to the position of Acting Mayor for the City of
Rosemount for the year 2004.
