RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to canvass the results of the November 2, 2014 municipal election for two Council Member positions. ACTION: ISSUE Canvass election results within seven days as required by Minnesota State Statutes. BACKGROUND The November 2, 2004 General election included races for Rosemount City Council, U.S. President, U.S. Representatives, County Commissioners, and County Judges. Rosemount is required to canvass the results of their municipal races, two City Council Members. SUMMARY The election results will be available following the voting process on Tuesday, November 2, 2004. Staff will transfer the results to a table for attachment to the enclosed resolution. The two City Council Member positions that have acquired the most votes will be offered the positions and will take their Oath of Office the first meeting in January on January 4 2005. The term of office is four years. Staff recommends approval of the presented resolution and attachment. I CITY OF ROSEMOUNT DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION 2004- A RESOLUTION DECLARING CITY RESULTS OF THE ELECTION HELD NOVEMBER 2, 2004 WHEREAS, the City of Rosemount held its Municipal Election on November 2, 2004 to elect two Council Members for terms of four years. NOW THEREFORE IT BE RESOLVED, that a canvass of the votes revealed the results for the November 5, 2002 Municipal Election as listed on the attached summary of votes for the two Council Member seats.
