E., City Enginee AGES 6 IV J ATTACHMENTS: Resolution APPROVED BY: RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO ADOPT A RESOLUTION REQUESTING A JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF EAGAN FOR FUTURE SANITARY SEWER SERVICE ACTION: BACKGROUND: On July 20, 2004, the City Council received and adopted the North Central Sanitary Sewer Study. One of the conclusions of the study was that Sanitary Districts A -1 and A -2 could be best served with sanitary sewer service in the future by an extension of sanitary sewer from the City of Eagan. The study recommended that a Joint Powers Agreement be developed between the City of Rosemount and the City of Eagan for a future extension of sanitary service to these Sanitary Districts. SUMMARY: Attached for Council consideration is a resolution requesting a Joint Powers Agreement with the City of Eagan for a future extension of Sanitary Sewer Service. Staff recommends Council adoption of the attached resolution. L CITY OF ROSEMOUNT DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION 2004 - A RESOLUTION REQUESTING A JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF EAGAN FOR FUTURE SANITARY SEWER SERVICE TO THE CITY OF ROSEMOUNT PER THE "NORTH CENTRAL SANITARY SEWER STUDY" ADOPTED BY THE ROSEMOUNT CITY COUNCIL ON JULY 20, 2004 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemount adopted the "North Central Sanitary Sewer Service Study" on July 20, 2004; and WHEREAS, the Study included the analysis of Sanitary Districts A -1 and A -2 for the - feasibility of being served with sanitary sewer service from the City of Eagan; and WHEREAS, a conclusion of the study is that the City of Eagan sanitary sewer system has sufficient capacity to except sanitary sewage flows from Sanitary Districts A -1 and -A -2 within the City of Rosemount. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council of the City of Rosemount hereby requests that a Joint Powers Agreement be written for execution by the City of Rosemount and the City of Eagan for the future extension of Sanitary Sewer Service from the City of Eagan to the City of Rosemount to serve Sanitary Districts A -1 and A -2.
